Hazardous Materials Technician

2018

From November 26 to December 4, 2018, IFSI Hazmat Instructor Richard Valenta, Ray Palczynski, William Buck Manley, Hugh Stott, and Dr. Lian Ruan, Director of IFSI International Programs visited and conducted the fifth Hazardous Materials Ops Training Program for 34 Chinese firefighters and first responders at the National Hazardous Chemicals Emergency Rescue Huizhou Base. This is the fifth IFSI Hazmat Ops training and the second Pro-Board Certificate Training conducted in Huizhou Training Base.

From September 17 to September 28, 2018, two officers from the Hong Kong Fire Services Department and two emergency first responders from S&H Solutions Inc. in Shenzhen joined the IFSI Hazmat Tech Training in Champaign.

2017

From November 30 to December 6, 2017, IFSI Hazmat Instructor Jim Conn, Ray Palczynski, Richard Valenta, Bob Wirtz and Dr. Lian Ruan, Director of IFSI International Programs visited and conducted the fourth Hazardous Materials Awareness and Ops Training Program for Chinese firefighters and first responders at the National Hazardous Chemicals Emergency Rescue Huizhou Base. It was the first Pro-Board Certificate training program conducted by IFSI in China. Twenty-seven participants passed the Pro-Board test and received the certificate.

From September 25 to October 6, 2017, four officers from the Hong Kong Fire Services Department joined the IFSI Hazmat Tech Training in Champaign.

From March 6 to March 17, 2017, six officers from the Hong Kong Fire Services Department joined the IFSI Hazmat Tech Training in Champaign.

2016

From November 28 to December 5, 2016, IFSI Hazmat Instructor Ray Palczynski, William Manley, Jim Conn and Dr. Lian Ruan, Director of IFSI International Programs visited and conducted the third Hazardous Materials Ops Training Program for 34 Chinese firefighters and first responders at the National Hazardous Chemicals Emergency Rescue Huizhou Base.

From May 9 to May 20, 2016, six officers from the Hong Kong Fire Services Department joined the IFSI Hazmat Tech Training Program in Champaign.

2015

From December 2 to December 7, 2015, IFSI held its second Hazardous Materials Ops Training Program at the National Hazardous Chemicals Emergency Rescue Huizhou Base for 34 Chinese firefighters and first responders. It was successful and well received. 

From July 29 to August 6, 2015, IFSI held its first Hazardous Materials Ops Training Program at the National Hazardous Chemicals Emergency Rescue Huizhou Base for 35 Chinese firefighters and first responders. It was successful and well received. 

In September 2015, four officers from the Hong Kong Fire Service Department joined the IFSI Hazmat Training at Bedford Park. 

From May 4 to May 15, 2015, five officers from the Hong Kong Fire Service Department joined the IFSI Hazmat Training: Tech A and Tech B at Champaign. 

2014

In fall 2014, four officers from the Hong Kong Fire Service Department joined the IFSI Hazmat Training Program. 

2013

In fall 2013, five senior station officers from Hong Kong Fire Service Department joined the IFSI Hazmat Training Program. 

2012

On April 9, 2012, five officers from the Hong Kong Fire Service Department joined the IFSI Hazardous Materials Training Program. 

2011

In March 2011, four officers from the Hong Kong Fire Services Department joined the IFSI Hazardous Materials Training Program and took the class "Hazmat incident management system Hanover Park" at IFSI. 

2010

In September 2010, five officers from Hong Kong Fire Services Department joined the IFSI Hazardous Materials Training Program. The local newspaper, Duke's Daily Blotter (September 23, 2010), reported the Hong Kong fire officials training in Northlake, entitled "News: (Northlake) Area fire training reaches across the globe" see at www.dukesblotter.com/2010/09/news-northlake-area-fire-training.html 

In March 2010, five officers from the Hong Kong Fire Services Department joined the IFSI Hazardous Materials Training Program at IFSI partner, Hanover Park Fire Department. The local newspaper, Daily Herald, reported their stay, entitled "Hong Kong delegation trains with Hanover Park firefighters," see at www.dailyherald.com/story/?id=366955 

2009

In March 2009, five officers from the Hong Kong Fire Services Department joined the IFSI Hazardous Materials training program led by Program Director Ray Palczynski and his instructor team. The local newspaper Daily Chronicle (March 28, 2009) reported the training, entitled "Hong Kong firefighters train in DeKalb". 

2008

In October 2008, Director Richard Jaehne and Head Librarian and Director of IFSI China Programs Lian Ruan visited the Hong Kong Fire Services Department and Rescue Training Center at Tsim Sha Tsui Area. They also met Director Gregory Lo, Training Director Kin-yat Li, and other key personnel. A collaborative training program was discussed and implemented. 

2007

In Fall 2007, three officials from the Hong Kong Fire Services Department visited IFSI.
