Bolingbrook Fire Department Lieutenant Frank DiGiovanni was awarded the Medal of Valor for his actions during a house fire in Bolingbrook in April 2013.
Giovanni arrived at the fire with only a two-person engine. He forced entry to the burning home without the protection of a fire hose. He crawled through the house while conducting his search and retrieved the unconscious victim. After delivering the victim to the waiting ambulance, DiGiovanni secured a fire hose and extinguished the fire with the help of another firefighter.
