Incident Summary

On September 13, 1917, Chicago Fire Department Captain Robert P. O’Connor of Engine 116 suffered a fatal heart attack while fighting a fire on West Garfield Street.

Funeral services for O’Connor were held at St. Leo’s Church on September 16, and he was interred at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
