Incident Summary

On November 21, 1918, Chicago Fire Department Lieutenant Maurice O’Dea of Engine 63 died in the line of duty when he fell through the fire pole hole at the Engine 63 firehouse.

Funeral services for O’Dea were held at Holy Angels Church on November 23, and he was interred at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
