Incident Summary

On April 17, 1950, Chicago Fire Department Firefighter Arthur Grant died in his sleep while on duty at the Engine 69 firehouse. Grant, a nineteen year veteran of the department, had returned from fighting a fire a few hours before his death. Funeral services were held on April 19, and Grant was buried in the Irving Park Cemetery.
