On March 21, 1971, Firefighter Wedo Sebben of the Libertyville Fire Department suffered a fatal heart attack in the line of duty while fighting a kitchen fire in a house on Brookhill Road. The fire was one of several working fires that the department responded to that day. A member of the department for eighteen years, Sebben collapsed while placing an exhaust fan in the front door of the house.
