On August 5, 1922, Chicago Fire Department Firefighter Stewart Lynn of Truck 8 was overcome by smoke while fighting a fire at the Louis Gertenrisch Candy Factory on Archer Avenue. He was transported to Cook County Hospital, where he died the next day, August 6.
