The University of Illinois Fire Service Institute (IFSI) has recently developed a new book, the Hazmat Field Operations Guide.
The handy, pocket sized guidebook was developed by IFSI Hazmat Program Manager Chris Downey and the IFSI Hazmat Program Instructors. The Hazmat FOG contains valuable Hazmat related information, in a durable, easy-to-use format, at the fingertips of the properly trained rescuer.
The Hazmat FOG is currently being used a supplemental material for the IFSI Hazmat Technician course, where each student is issued one as part of the course. The Hazmat FOG is full illustrated and contains response information in areas such as: Donning/Doffing, Science, Control Zones, Decontamination, Foam, Product Control, Mitigation Techniques, Rescue, and Sampling. The Hazmat FOG contains useful reminders and checklists to assist Hazmat officers and responders with all aspects of hazardous materials response.
