The American Heart Association Basic Life Support Provider (AHA BLS Provider) course is intended for healthcare professionals or students of health professions. Also, it is required for those wanting to volunteer with IEMS as an EMT-B or EMS Aide.
Registration and Payment:
Part 1) Registration for the course must be done through the buttons below. Please read the cancellation policy thoroughly prior to registering.
Part 2) Please fill out this form (https://forms.gle/7tSWu6njr1gLW11n9) to arrange a time to pick up your textbook. Our office is located in the Illini Union Mezzanine (1401 W. Green Street, Urbana, IL 61801). The AHA requires that all students pick up the textbook 2 weeks before this class. We will not make any exceptions to this rule, and a textbook is required for entry to the class.
The class fee is a total of $55 (This includes the cost of the required textbook, all required equipment, and your certification)
Until further notice, all IEMS classes will take place at the Illinois Fire service Institute (11 Gerty Dr. Champaign, IL 61820).
Cancellations:
If you should choose to cancel your CPR class, please email IEMS at illinimedservices@illinois.edu and let us know as soon as possible. IEMS reserves the right to charge for the class in full if you do not notify us in writing at least 24 hours before the class begins or if you fail to pick up the book two weeks in advance. Students who cancel at least 24 hours before the course begins are required to return their textbook (in like-new condition) to the IEMS office within one (1) week of the course to avoid being billed the full value of the book ($16).
Please note that classes in which less than 4 students are enrolled 24 hours before the course will be rescheduled for a later date; as such, please do not sign up for a course the day before you need your certification.
